The purposes of this study were to detamine the height of Hanoi people and evaluate the change of height of over 16 years - old people according to ages, sexes. Subject and method: including 8780 people (3728 males and 5052 females) over 16 years - old livng in 4 dictrict:s: Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, My Duc and Ba Vi were c:anied out research according to cross - sectional study. The results showed that: the average stature of Hanoi people was 166.24 + or - 6.13cm for men and: 154.19 + or - 5.72cm for women (30-39 age group choosen representative for adults). After 18 years - old period, the height continuously increased following ages and scored maximumly at the age of 25 for males: X =167.31 + or- 5.69cm and 22 for females: X = 156.04 + or - 4.38cm. It was necessary to improve nutritional supplements and phygic:al activities for both of genders after 16 years - old period, until 22 for females and 25 for males in order to get the best height for Hanoi people.
