The study was conducted to describe the clinical characteristics and some factors related to mortality of pediatric multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). Results showed that the incidence of MODS was 22.4 percent; 70 percent with MODS were less than 1 year old. 83.4 percent with MODS associated with sepsis. The mortality rate of MODS was 70 percent. Mortality prognosis factors were: number of organs dysfunction, age 12 month, PRISM score or = 20, presence of sepsis, history medical disease, the first day of multiple organ dysfunction. In conclusion, the rate and the mortality of MODS were very high in the ICU. There were some factors related with high mortality.
