Background: The deltoid fasciocutaneous flaps are often selected to treat defects of the press regions. This study on the flap aim to description (1) the anatomical features of the components in the pedicle of the flap and, (2) the anastomoses of vessel in subcutaneous tissues in .order- to obtain theappropriate flap design. Materials and methods. The 30 deltoid regions of 15 cadaver fixed in formalin 4 percent were dissected in detail and by the method of cross sectional study. Results. There are 93.33 percent of the cases have two fasciocuatneous arteries. They usually escape at the posterior border of the deltoid muscle and in 10 percent of these cases, one of them perforate the muscle. There are 2-4 musculocutaneous arteries supply to the skin of the deltoid region, they are concentrated in the anterior and middle bundle of the deltoid muscle. Musculocutaneous arteries branched to connect together and anastomosed with fasciocutaneous arteries in all cases. Condusion: The deltoid fasciocutaneous flap is a highly reliable flap. The presence of musculocutaneous arteries is the basis for expanding flap or design new flap pattems.
