To characterise the angiography findings and comparing to the result of SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) in type 2 diabetic patients of non-typical angina. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study with MPI and angiography was performed on 92 type 2 diabetic patients. Non-typical angina and risky factors were collected. MPI and angiographic findings were analysed. Results: 45.6 percent of patients had coronary stenosis more than 50 percent. Clasical risky factors cannot predict the presence of corobnary artery disease. The percentage of one -two and three vessel disease was 28.3 percent; 15.2 percent and 20.7 percent respectively. Type A took up the highest percentage with 55.7 percent; type B accounted for 11.4 percent; and type C was 32.8 percent. MPI has sensitivity of 92.7 percent and specificity of 20 percent. Conclusions: In type 2 diabetic patients with non-typical angina, three vessel disease took up the highest percentage and type A was the most common, MPI has very low specificity.
