The study was to describle epidemiology of diabetes type 2 in population age of 30-69 living in Nghe An province in 2010. The results indicated that diabete prevalence type 2 in Nghe An province was 9.39 percent. Prevalence in male higher than that in female (11.0 percent vs 8.26 percent), urban higher than rural (9.94 percent vs 8.88 percent); increased over age group and most occurred at age or = 45; having history of heart diseases, lipoprotein disorder, high blood pressure, diets, Sedentary lifestyle, over weight and baby's weight at birth or = 4000 gr are associated with diabete type 2. In conclusion, screening for diabete type 2 needs be expanded in Nghe An in population age 30 plus yearly together with Information, Communication and Education program about risk and risk factors of diabetes. Community based counselling and screening sites for should be opened soon.
