Mortality rate in premature was high (38 percent), to reduce the mortality rate and to help distribution the personnel working and equipment in overload conditions, CRIB scale was created. The study was carried out to determinate the evaluation of prognostic value of death in 667 prematures by CRIB scale in the Neonatology Department of National Hospital of pediatrics from 1/3/2008 to 7/31/2008. Results showed that the group of children with CRIB score or = 4 had a high mortality risk with 13 times to compared with a CRIB score 4 (RR or = 11 with mortality risk (96 times higher to compare with CRIB score 0-5 (RR = 96.06, P 0.001). In infants with the weigh 1500 g and/or gestational age 31 weeks, the CRIB score of 0-5 risk of death 4 times higher than infants with weigh or = 1500 g and/or gestational age or = 31 weeks (RR = 4.2, P 0.001). In conclusion, CRIB score or = 4 has a good ability to analyze between life group and died group. Premature group with CRIB score or = 11 had a very high risk of death. CRIB score of 0-5 had a higher risk of death if infants weigh 1500 g and/or gestational age 31 weeks.
