
The airm of the study was to assess the effects of yoga practice on some respiratory indices in patients with bronchial asthma. The study was conducted on 58 patients with asthma and aged of from 18 to 60 years old, they are outpatient treatment at the General Hospital in Nghe An province. The results showed that: after 3 months of yoga practice, in experimental group (n=28), FVC index increased from 2,95 + or - 0,49 to 3,23 + or - 0,52 I, FEV1 increased from 2,25 + or - 0,53 to 2,52 + or - 0,41 I, the rate of FEV1/FVC increased from 78,94 + or - 4,98 to 82,17, PEFR increased from 5,91 + or - 1,71 to 6,34 + or - 1,31 lis; breathing frequency decreased from 23,30 + or - 4,67 to 18,86 + or - 4,11. The indices did not change significantly in comparison with the control group.
