The study analyzed 373 clinical records of obstetric complications in 2008, which were selected randomly at Ob/Gyn hospitals, provincial and district hospitals in the 14 project provinces in the Northern Mountainous and Central Highlands. The results show that: 1) The cases of haemorrhage were managed appropriately; however, the number of cases of haemorrhage and uterine rupture with blood transfusion was quite low; most of the cases without blood transfusion were found at district level; 2} The treatment on ecalmpsia/pre-eclampsia has not been appropriate in many cases; 3) Some district hospitals in remote areas treated, for cases of postpartum infection with oral common antibiotic at low effect; 4} The proportion of obstetriccomplication cases with correct management attained 60.2 percent, this proportion at the provincial and district levels was 65.2 percent and 53.7 percent respectively. The reason was due to lack of resources, especially at the district hospitals.
