
Objective: Evaluate the result of open nephrolithotomy for staghorn calculi with renal arteries - controlled at Viet-Tiep Hospital. Patients and method: Between Jan 2000 and Dee 2012, 828 patients with renal staghorn calculi were operated upon via open nephrolithotomy. Results: total stag horn calculus 142 cases (17.14 percent), partial staghorn calculus 193 cases (23.3 percent). the authors used TurnerWarwick procedure in 329 cases, nephrolithotomy enbivalve in 496 cases. There were good results in 506 cases (61,6 percent), fair 229 cases (36.11 percent) and bad 23 cases (2.78 percent); residual stone rate 17.9 percent, no mortality. Conclusion: There are many research for the sugery of the staghorn calculus. However, the authors only point out the experience and result in this method about hemotasis, safe for the patients.
