Khảo sát thực trạng kỹ năng giao tiếp trong thực hành lâm sàng của sinh viên y khoa tại Trường Đại học Y dược Cần Thơ

Communication skills in the clinical practice of medical university students have long been considered one of the important factors in the success of medical students learning process. Objective: To evaluate the current situation and factors related to communication skills in the clinical practice of medical students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 346 medical students studying the 4th- to 6th- year at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy between August and October 2022. Data collection was conducted based on a self-administered questionnaire using an online Google Form platform. Results: The percentage of students who self-assessed having proficient communication skills accounted for 73.1%. Of communication skills, the skill ‘creating a comfortable communication environment, showing respect for the patient’ was the highest rated by students (3,91 ± 0,98).was the highest rated by students (3.91 ± 0.98). Gender was a statistically significant factor associated with poor communication skills in medical students (p=0.002). Conclusion: The majority of students (73.1%) rated communication skills in clinical practice as proficient and able to perform independently.
