Objective. To describ the resources of volunteer blood donnors. Method: Restrospective study on characteristic demographics of volunteers blood donnors during two years (2010-2011). The collection of information from 24,387 of volunteers blood donnors at Haiphong Center for Hematology-Blood Transfusion. The authors used Open INFO, X2 test for data analyse. Result The proportion ofvolunteer blood donnors (VBD) is 82.92 percent, the major VBD are students (71.3 percent), 18-25 years of age (77.0 percent), man (59.7 percent), and 31.7 percent redone VBD, 25.3 percent abandoned people or not meet criterias of blood donnors. Conclusion: the volunteers blood donnors is main resourse for blood transfusion in Haiphong, the students are the majors of blood donnors. The proportion of abandoned blood donnors is 8.9 percent and 21.8 percent offer blood more than one time. The study need to expend the resourse of blood donnors by improving the education of volunteer blood donnors in the community.
