
Among 357 medical records retrospective study of cases of child deaths (0-15 years old) at the Chiidren Hospital of Hai Phong. The results show a number of factors relating as follows:The age of mothers: The highest fatality rate lies in the group of mother at the age of 20 to 30. The infant deaths in the first birth of mothers accounted for the highest percentage (56.33 percent), lowest from the second births, duration of illness to hospital accounted for the highest percentage (77.87 percent) for the affected children before the day of admission and lowest in children who are late 3 days. Duration of treatment at the lower level has the highest mortality rate of 93.55 percent on the children staying at the lower level 1 day and lowest for those treated at hospital 2 days (2.87 percent); Treatment places prior to hospitalization: the highest mortality rate in babies were born at Hai Phong Maternity Hospital (67.84 percent) and lowest in medical station (0.35 percent); Mortality situation caused by illness when hospitalization: deaths from respiratory failure accounted for the highest percentage (73.35 percent) thelowest is heart failure and severe anemia (1.12 percent; 0.28 percent).
