
Objectives: to evaluate health related quality of life in COPD patient and the correlation between CAT and SGRQ questionnaire. Patients and Methods: 100 patients with chronic ohstructlve pulmonary diseases at Respiratory center - Bach Mai hospital from January to August 2011. This was a cross sectional study using CAT questionnaire. Results: Average point of cough: 2.31: expectoration: 2.14 + or - 0.79: chest tightness: 1.58 + or - 0.76. limitation of movement: 2.95 + or - 0.87; dyspnea: 2.85 + or - 0.84; health: 3.09 + or - 0.73; average point of 8 items: 20.01 + or - 4.45. There was good positive relation between MRC and CAT (r = 0.72). Besides, the study showed a closed negative relation between FEV1 and CAT (r = - 0.47). Finally, CAT and SGRQ have perfect positive relation (r = 0.8). Conclusions: CAT questionnaire can he applied in clinical to assess the quality of life of patients with COPD.
