Background:The anatomical structures of the renal pedicle are always variations. Therefore, the study of anatomy of renal pedicle is necessary. Aims: Describe anatomical characteristics of the renal pedicle, identify the variations and their rates of the structures in the renal pedicle. Subjects and methods: The study was conducted cross-sectional descriptive design in 16 Vietnamese adult corpses at Anatomy Department of Cantho University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Results: The position of structures from anterior to posterior in renal pedicle is renal vein, artery, pelvis. The average length of the right renal vein is 25,5mm, the left one is 58,5mm The average diameter of the right renal vein (RV) is 7,2mm, the left one is 8,9mm. Among observed 31 cases, 27/31 cases (87,1 percent) have 1 RV, 4/31 cases (12,9 percent) have 2 RV. The average length of the right renal artery (RA) is 45mm, the left one is 36,1mm. The average diameter of the right RA is 4,93mm, the left one is 4,88mm.There are 22/31 kidneys (71 percent) supplied by 1 RA, 7/31 kidneys (29 percent) supplied by 2 RA. Conciusion:The anatomical characteristics of renal vessels in the pedicle are very complex. The variations of the renal artery are popular, the variations of renal artery don't always contact the variations of the renal vein.
