The incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus is increasing worldwide. In patients with cerebrovascular disease, the presence of type 2 diabetes increases the risk of ischemic cerebral infarction, which accounts for more than three quarters of all strokes. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 31 patients aged 61 to 90 years diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes mellitus and ischemic cerebral infarction in Friendship hospital. Of these, 96, 8 percent was men, the mean age was 76 years. All of patients was diagnosed and treated diabetes before admission. Of 31 patients, the incidence of hypertension was 74 percent. The majority of patients with sudden onset and 37.8 percent of patients had symptoms of hemiplegia. Results of computer tomography: lacunar infarct proportion of 54.8 percent. In general, patients in the study were controlled relatively well at fasting plasma glucose concentration, lipid blood levels, HbA1c level before admission.
