Dyslipidemia has Iong been established as important risk factors for CVD and a main symptom of metabolic syndrome. It is important to early detect dyslipidemia in order to prevent cardiovascular events. Purpose: The study was to examine the prevalence of dyslipidemia in the officers and staffs of Hospital X. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional survey was performed in 889 subjects (354 males, 535 females) to evaluate the prevalence of dyslipidemia. Results: Among 889 participants being examined, the proportion of dyslipidemia was 49.5 percent in which combined dyslipidemia accounted for 19.8 percent, hypertriglyceridemia 17.7 percent and hypercholesterolaemia 12 percent. Conclusions: The prevalence of dyslipidemia in participants of Hospital X was high (49.5 percent). It is important for us to prevent and treat dyslipidemia in the strategies for the prevention of cardiovascular events.
