First time in Vietnam, the authors used High Resolution CT Scanner (HRCT) to study these patients with otosclerosis. Objective: imaging studies in patients with otosclerosis through HRCT. Methods: A descriptive prospective study consisting of HRCT of the temporal bone was conducted on 84 ears of 80 patients with clinical otosclerosis. Results: anterior fenestral otosclerotic focus: 67.85 percent, cochlear otosclerotic focus: 1.19 percent, and footplate thickening: 55.96 percent. No correspondence between the HRCT and surgery. Conclusion: HRCT are valid tool to confirm diagnosis and assess the extention otosclerotic foci.
