
Objective: To study clinical characteristics of autistic children at the age from 18 to 36 months old. Methods: Cross-section study with 451 children suffered from autism. Results: Clinical characteristics: Number of boy suffered from autism is higher than that of girl with the rate of boy/girl is 6.4/1; Ratio of severe autistic child is high (85.7 percent). Autistic children has got: Qualitative impairment in social interaction: no eye contact (86.9 percent); don't nod or shake its head when agree or disagree (97.6 percent); prefer play with it-self (94.8 percent); don't show once provide thing (97.6 percent); no response when its name was called (96.8 percent); Qualitative impairment in communication: to pronounce the words without meaning (82.1 percent); don't know how to play pretended game (98.4 percent); Abnormal pattenrns of behavior, interests an activities: interest In one particular toy or thing like to spin the wheels (70.1 percent); like to walk on tiptoe (61 percent). Paraclinical characteristics: calcium concentration In blood reduced (56.8 percent); Electroencephalogram comprises abnormal waveforms (55.7 percent). Conclusion: Some signs were seen in autistic child at the age from 18 to 36 months: Speak delay, to pronounce the words, without meaning, no response when its name was called, no eye contact, prefer play with it-self, like to spin the wheels, like to walk on tiptoe.
