
Objectives: To describe some eating habits and lifestyle of adults in a rural coastal area. Design and subjects: A cross-sectional study of 497 Haiphong aged 19 to 60 years was conducted in rural coastal areas. Interview eating habits and lifestyle. Results: Punctual eating habits of people right now in Kien Thuy and Thuy Nguyen were 68.6 percent, the proportion of people eating at a medium speed was 75.4 percent. There are 55.5 percent of people never eat out and 73.3 percent never eat too much. The rate of male drinking and smoking were 12.1 percent and 34.7 percent respectively, most women in two districts do not smoke nor drink alcohol. The regularly exercise accounted 44.1 percent for men and 32.9 percent of women. Conclusion: Eating habits and lifestyles are a new issue of public health in rural areas today and that was the risk factors cause the problem of overweight and underweight. The findings in this study was the basis for scientists to develop proper nutrition advice in accordance with the population living in rural residential.
