
Objectives: To identify the situation of hepatitis B virus infection among patients with primary liver cancer and the correlation between hepatitis B and primary liver cancer in hospital of the Hue college of Medicine and Pharmacy. Methods: A matched case - control study was carried out from May 2011 to April 2012. In which, the study group included 40 patients with primary liver cancer and a control group of 40 persons without hepatic disease and cancer. Results: - The rate of HBsAg (+) in patients with primary liver cancer was 75 percent. - There was the correlation between hepatitis B virus infection with HBsAg (+) and primary liver cancer: OR=17 (95 percent CI = 4.91- 62.64; p0.001). - There was the correlation between hepatitis B in history and primary liver cancer: OR
