From July to November 2010, 39 preterm and 37 full-term suffering jaundice with hyperbilirubinaemia in Vietnam-Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital were studied. Method: descriptive cross - sectional study. Result: Severity of jaundice and serum bilirubin level is higher in full-term. Severely jaundiced neonates is almost in term. Some baby diagnosis severely jaundice with clinical signs of kernicterus because of prolonged observation. There are correlations between severityof jaundice and serum bilirubin level (r = 0.76). Time treatment of fullterm is longer than preterm. There was no procedure complications. Conclusion: It is necessary to inform knowledge of neonatal hyperbilirubinaemia jaundice to person who takecare directly the baby after birth (midwife, obstetrician...) in order to establish strategy for determining and treating.
