
Objectives: To determine the rate of HBsAg (+) and some epidemiologic characteristics in people aged 15 to 18 years in some communes, wards of the city of Buon Ma Thuot in 2011. Methods: cross-sectional description. Sample sizes: including 836 people aged 15-18 years living and administered at the city of Buon Ma Thuot. Results: The rate of HBsAg (+) is 5.4 percent. The rate of HBsAg (+) in the Kinh ethnic 5.1 percent and the minoritiesethnic is 6.1 percent. The rate of HBsAg (+) in people aged 15-16 years was 4.5 percent, 16-17 years was 5.6 percent and from 17-18 years was 5.6 percent. The rate of HBsAg (+) in non-literacy was 16.7 percent, Primary was 7.1 percent, secondary education was 4.6 percent, secondary education was 5.5 percent and the Professional School colleges and universities was 5.9 percent. The rate of HBsAg (+) in men was 5.2 percent and females 5.6 percent. The people who live in families with HBV infection, rate of HBsAg (+) was (9.5 percent) higher than them in the family did not have the infection (4.4 percent). No hepatitis B vaccination rate of HBsAg (+) was (6.3 percent) higher than those with hepatitis B vaccination was 2.1 percent. Condusion: Therate of HBsAg (+) in people aged 15 tD 18 yearsis the 5.4 percent. The rate of HbsAg (+) in Kinh and Minorities ethnic, age groups, menandwomen were theequal. The rate of HBsAg( +) is thehigherin people withlow education, the family historywasinfectedand no vaccination.
