Liver fibrosis is a common disease with prevalence rates varied by regions of the world. The aim of this research is to initially determine the diagnostic value of FibroTest in liver cirhotic patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection in Vietnam. Objects: 90 people were divided into 2 groups: the control group consisted 30 healthy volunteers and the patient group consisted 60 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of liver cirrhosis Child A and Child B. Methods: Measuring the biochemical parameters and calculated FibroTest on the control group and the infected group. Results: The FibroTest value on the cirrhotic patients with hepatitis B virus chronic infection (0.82 + or - 0.21) is higher than the control group (0.17 + or - 0.07). FibroTest value on the patients with cirrhosis Child B (0.94 + or - 0.05) is higher compared with Child A (0.6 + or - 0.2; P 0.001). Conclusions: The FibroTest is highly significant in the diagnosis and prognosis of the patients infected with chronic hepatitis B virus.
