
Cross study on 150/1125 households in Hoang Kim - Me Linh - Ha Noi from 2009 to 2010 have shown: 1) The rates of risky behaviour leading to pesticides infection are too high: 72.7 percent the households have pesticides stored but one of the households have pesticides stored saparately; 26 percent hang pesticides in the garden, 14.67 percent store in stables, 12 percent in the bathrooms and toilets; 6.67 percent of them mainly store these in houses; 11.71 percent leave them in unlocked bins, 21.33 percent mix chemicals by bare hands. The rate of households mix chemicals with correct concentration is only 57.33 percent; among the others, 66.67 percent spray forwardly 2.67 percent mix with thicker concentration, only 66.7 percent always use safet, 66.67 percent spray forwardly. 2) The effects of pesticides on the health of sprayers .are obvious with: tiredness 80.67 percent; headache 80 percent; dizziness 59.33 percent; trouble with sleeping 3.33 percent. Throat dryness, sorethroat 1.33 percent; Nausea and vomiting 2 percent; stomachache. Itchy skin 2 percent, itchy eyes, sore eyes 1.33 percent; chest pain 0.67 percent. Recommendations: Open training courses and closely supervise to improve knowledge and practices to reduce risk behaviour leading to pesticides infection for users.
