
Introduction and objectives: Comparing to other countries in the world, the rate of bladder cancer is quite high in Vietnam. Radical cystectomy is recommended for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. However, recently, it is also a choice for non muscle-invasive stage but highrisk tumors. Bladder replacement should be performed after cystectomy. The problem now is focused on quality of life. Neuro-vascular preservation techniques help to improve quality of life after surgery. Obiectives: Evaluation the effectiveness of neuro-vascular bundles preservation on the quality of life after' surgery based on two criteria: urinary contil1€nce and erectile dysfunction (ED). Patients and methods: Prospective, descriptive clinical study. Neuro-vascular bundles preservation were performed in radical surgery of bladder cancer high risk stage T1 and stage T2. Erectile function were evaluated and compared before and after surgery. The urinary continence and erectile function was evaluated after 6 months. Results: In total, 28 cases of nerve preservation. Mean age 58.1 + or - 10.7 years (3974). Preop: 18 patients no ED and 10 patients with mild ED. Postop: Urinary continence: 26 cases (92 percent) good, 2 cases (7.3 percent) moderate results Sexual function 12 cases (42.9 percent) good, 6 TH (21.4 percent) fairly good, 7 cases (25 percent) moderate va 6 cases (21.4 percent) bad results. Conclusions: Neuro-vascular bundles preservation contribute to the recovery of urinary continence and erectile function after surgery.
