
The 87 patients with mediastinal tumors were enrolled and treated by endoscopic surgery in K hospital from 9/2008 to 9/2011, the authors have following results: Thymoma was the most common, accounts for 30 patients (34,5 percent); mediastinal cysts 24 patients (27,6 percent); teratoma 18 patients (20,7 percent); neural tumors 15 patients (17,2 percent). The 66 patients were closely endoscopic operated, 18 patients were VATS operated, only 3 patient had to be converted to open operation accounts for 3,4 percent. The medium sedative drugs using time was 3- 5 days, the medium time of drainage sonde withdraw was 2 days, the medium time of hospitalisation was 6 days. In the study, there is endoscopic surgery induced catastrophere, this is minimal invasive surgery, less postoperative pain, rapide recovery, shortened haspitalisation and cosmetic value. Endoscopic surgery is a tendency in mediastinal tumors recently.
