Objective of this study was to evaluate the preliminary results of a Single-Port-Access (SPA) in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Patients were diagnosed and were selected for cholecystectomy, at Viet Duc hospital. The results showed that 30 patients including women: 17 (56.7 percent), male: 13 (43.3 percent); the age from 19 to 72 (average 42.6 + or - 14.1 years old); 8MI index from 16 to 25.3 kg/m2 (average 20.6 + or - 2.6 kg/m2); SPA cholecystectomy due to gallbladder stones: 18 cases (60 percent), polyps: 8 (26.7 percent), gallbladder stones and polyps: 3 (10 percent), gallbladder tumor: 1 (3.3 percent). Surgery was performed on 28 cases (93.3 percent) by an umbilical incision of 2 cm through the skin with a COVIDIEN port, extra trocarts were administered in 2 cases (6.7 percent), and no open surgery was necessary. Bleeding during the operation occurred in 2 cases (67 percent); postoperative bleeding from incision 1 case (3.3 percent), infection of incision 1 (3.3 percent). In conclusion, SPA cholecystectomy is an effective method, with less complication, resulting in almost no scarring on the abdominal wall, is a new direction for the field of laparoscopic surgery.
