
Obejectives: Asessement of the complications intraoperatively and postoperatively of upper ureteral stones treatment by retroperitoneal-laparoscopic approach.From Oct. 2004 to Oct. 2011 at Viet-Tiep Hospital, 750 patiens underwent retroperitoneal ureterolithotomy. 370 males and 380 females were at age of 22 to 71. Result: Operative time: min 20, max 120 minutes, mean 59.4 + or - 22.4 minutes. - Hospital stays were ranged from 2 to 19 days, mean: 5.2 + or - 3.3 days. - 72 patiens (9.2 percent), who has urine leakage postoperatively. - The open operation: 29 cas (3.9 percent) due to migration of stone toward kidney. Conclusion: The technique of retroperitoneal ureterolithotomy is highly effective and safety. This is a kind of operation that can be applied universally.
