The study evaluated the association between cardiac arrhythmias, conduction disturbances with risk factors for cardiovascular diseases in patients presenting. The paper studied 261 patients with cardiovascular risk factors: smoking, alcoholism, disorders of lipid metabolism, hypertension, diabetes, who had at least one or more of the risk factors compared with 30 patients without evidence of cardiovascular risk factors. Recording ECG to evaluate arrhythmias: premature contractions, atrial fibrillation, blocks and WPW syndrome. Among 261 patients with cardiovascular risk factors, 204 patients (78.16 percent) presented cardiac arrhythmias and conduction disturbances, premature atrial contractions 12.26 percent, premature ventricular contractions 26.05 percent, atrial fibrillation 6.51 percent, atrial-ventricular block of 8.05 percent, 18.39 percent right bundle branch block, combined disorders 4.98 percent.
