
Background: The authors report a case of bifid ureter complicated by a stone, which was successfully removed by ureteroscopic lithotripsy. Patients and methods: A 51-year-old female patient was admitted with left flank pain in No.108 Central Military Hospital. A stone in her left bifid ureter was treated by ureteroscopic lithotripsy. Results: The intravenous urography revealed a amm stone in the lower branch of her left bifid ureter. The ureteroscopic lithotripsy was performed and the stone was successfully removed after 15 minutes of operation time. After a month follow-up, the patient was pain-free and stone-free, confirmed by intravenous urography. Conclusion: In selective cases, ureterscopic lithotripsy seems to be appropriate for the management of stone in bifid ureter.
