This retrospective study in combination with qualitative study aims to describe current situation of recording and reporting of consequences of natural disasters in the health care sector of Viet Nam and provide suggestions for improvement. Results: natural disaster consequences reporting is integrated in the existing the reporting system of the health care sector. Reporting is implemented well during disaster but there is no formal recording and reporting format as well as guidelines for implementing reporting. Databqse on health consequences of natural disaster has not been developed. Recommendations: 'the Ministry of Health should develop recording and reporting formats, guidelines for implementing the recording and reporting activities. Database on health consequences of natural disaster should be developed to provide evidence for health emergency management policy development.
