
The cross-sectional descriptive survey on 300 adolescents on their status of access to information about STDs and HIV/AIDS was conducted in Kien Xuong district - Thaibinh province in 2012 shows that: In the survey subjects, the rate of female adolescents accounted for 51 percent, that of male adolescents was 49 percent. The rates of adolescents who have heard about the topics of psychological and physical health puberty and contraceptive methods in corresponding percentages were 86.3 percent and 62 percent. Information on STDs and HIV/AIDS the adolescents received was mainly from books/newspapers and TV/radio with the corresponding rates of 78.6 percent and 74 percent. The adolescents who were communicated by population collaborators on issues of reproductive health, contraceptives were found at a low rate (26.3 percent); in other words,. up to 73.7 percent of the adolescents have not been heard about those topics from population collaborators.
