Objective: (1) To find the rate of mental and behavior disorders in primary and secondary schoolchildren in Thai Nguyen city, Viet Nam. (2) To describe some related factors to mental health problem. Method: cross-sectional study. The study was conducted on a school sample of 1638 primary students of Hoang Van Thu, Nguyen Viet Xuan primary schools and 1212 secondary students of Doc Lap and Nguyen Du secondary schools. Time: 10-12/2009. Results: - Prevalence of schoolchildren with SDQ25 14 was 22.9 percent. The prevalence of mental and behavious disorders were 8.2 percent; - The most mental and behavious disorders were depression (76 percent); Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (32.2 percent); anxiously disorders (17.6 percent) and mix disorders (39.1 percent); - The age of students and stress factors were considered have related to (pental and behavious disorders.
