Knowledge about employment status of grad utes is useful for assessing need of society and education quality of a training institution. The study was to describe employment status of Public health graduates from Hanoi Medical University during the period between 2005 and 2009. The results showed that the employment rates of graduates after 6 months and one year since their graduation were 87 percent and 93.2 percent, respectively. Of them, 97.2 percent got a job that is closed to their training. 50 percent of graduates reported having a income level of less than VND 3 millions at the time of interview. In conclusion, high employment rate of graduates indicated quality of education as well as the need for this training category of the society. However, low income level points out the need to improve awareness about the importance and role of this profession in the society.
