Purpose: to assess prevalence and clinical characteristics of depression after myocardial infraction (MI). Method: interview and exam 38 patients with MI in hospital. Result: the prevalence of depression after MI is 15.8 percent; Symptoms of depression are: sleep problems (65.7 percent), depressed mood (28.9 percent), low selfconfidence (26.3 percent), lost of interest (23.6 percent. Using SSRI drugs is effective after 3 months of treatment. Conclusion: depressive symptoms is appeared commonly in MI patients and treated by SSRls.
