Changes in concentration of creatinine, urea and (beta2-microglobuline in peritoneal dialysis solution during the treatment were followed up by cross-section study on 20 patients with chronic renal failure given continuous treatment with peritoneal dialysis at the Department of Renal and Urologic diseases in Bach Mai hospital. Creatinine concentration increased rather slowly, reaching the level of only 881 + or - 134.9 umol/l after 6 hours of dialysis, which was statistically lower than its blood concentration (p 0.05). The urea concentration increased rapidly - after 6 hours of treatment the level was insignificantly different (p 0.05) from its blood concentration (23.0 + or - 3.96 mmol/l). Beta2-microglobuline concentration increased very slowly, being only 7.7 + or - 1.31 mmol/l after 6 hours treatment and significantly lower (p 0.05) than its blood concentration (22.3 + or - 4.12 mg/l).
