
Objective: To evaluate the early results of ureteroscopic lithotripsy using YAG laser in Pho Noi General Hospital. Patients and method: A retrospective review of 36 patients who underwent ureteroscopic lithotripsy using YAG laser from 2/2012 to 4/2013 was conducted. Results: 36 patients suffered ureteral stone were operated, including 15 males (41.6 percent) and 21 females (58.4 percent). 24 patients had ureteral stone on the right (66.7 percent) and 12 patients had ureterolith on the left (33.3 percent). The mean duration of hospitalization was 3.5 days. 75 percent endoscopic lithotripsy was successful. There was no important post-operative complications. Conclusion: Endoscopic lithotripsy using YAG laser is safe and effective. It should be chosen for treatment of ureteral stone.
