
Adult laryngeal papilloma is a benign tumor of the larynx. They are prone to recur after surgery and can be developed into laryngeal cancer thus the treatment is more difficult. Objectives: To evaluate the treatment of adult laryngeal papilloma by the mean of endoscopic microsurgery. Subject and method: Medical record of 46 adult patients who diagnosed with adult laryngeal papilloma from 1/2011 to 7/2012 in National ENT Hospital. Study Design: Clinical analysis. Results: Patient's age were between 36-55 years old (45.6 percent) and the rate ratio between male and female: 3.6/1. Most of the papilloma were in the glottis (87.0 percent). Histopathology: The authors observed that most of them were not dysplasia (91.3 percent) and 4.3 percent progressed to carcinoma. After following up the patients for 3 months 69.6 percent patients got good result. recurrence occurred with remaining 30.4 percent. Conclusion: Adult laryngeal papilloma occured mosly in middle age people. Most of the papilloma were in the glottis. Recurrence rate after 3 months was (30.4 percent). They might progress to carcinoma (4.3 percent).
