
A cross-sectional descriptive studv aims to evaluate some mothers' hygiene bebavior for children under 5 years old. The study was conducted in Ninh Thuan and Ha Tinh, included a total of 988 mother (or caregivers). The study findings show that: 1) Over 75 percent of respondents usually practiced hand-washing daily, but the rate of mothers usually, washing hands with soap at some important time was not high; 2) There were still over 20 percent of respondents not concerned about the sources of food supply or do not know what to be concerned about when buying food. 3) Beside knowing the requirement of food processing with clean water, only relatively few mothers/caregiver concern about other necessary practices to ensure hygiene in using and storing food; 4) The rate of interviewees giving correct and sufficient answers about what should be done to ensure the hygiene of usingand storing food was still low.
