Background. Systemic lupus erythematosus was a system autoimmune disease with disorders of the production of immune complexes that caused more damage to the small blood vessels of various organs including the heart and kidney. These problems may lead to causes of death. Therefore, the authors conducted this study with aim to find out several cardi9vascular abnormalities in patients with lupus nephritis. Patients and methods. One retrospective study was performed on lupus nephritis patients who were treated in Nephro-Urology, Bach Mai Hospital during 5 years from January 2008 to December 2012. Results. 142 patients with lupus nephritis included in the study, there were 87.3 percent of patients had heart valve damage. The most common injured the mitral valse accounted for 76.8 percent, tricuspid valve accounted for 53.5 percent, pulmonary valve was 45.8 percent, and aortic valve was 40.1 percent. The average value of ejection fraction of patients was 58,81 + or - 11,7 percent. The pulmonary arterial hypertension was observed in 52.1 percent of lupus nephritis patients. There were 77.5 percent of patients with pericardial effusion, in which the majority of pericardial effusion was mild, accounting for 73.9 percent. The deep vein thromboses were in 2.8 percent of lupus nephritis patients. Conclusions: the results suggested that the high prevalence of cardiovascular abnormalities in patients with lupus nephritis.
