
Objectives: To evaluate the result of the arthroscopic treatment for synovial chondromatosis of knees in Bach Mai Hospital. Subject and method: A retrospective study of 34 patients who underwent the arthroscopic treatment for synovial chondromatosis of knees in Bach Mai Hospital andtHa Noi Medical university Hospital from January 2009 to December 2012. Result: 100 percent of the patients obtained the improvement of postoperative functional outcome according to Lyshome Gilquist score with 50 percent of the patients acquiring 30 points of improvement compared with the preoperative situation. 88.2 percent of the patients achieved the improvement of the preoperative symptoms; especially, the mechanical symptoms improved almost completely. Conclusion: The arthroscopic treatment for synovial chondromatosis of knees brings about good results.
