
Background: In Vietnam. the project supports people with HIV/AIDS is still sporadic, not a system, therefore identifying the needs and status of health care is an effective solution to help to improve the health of HIV/AIDS is essential. Since then the topic "Research needs and determine the status of health care for people with HIV/AIDS on ARV treatment in Hanoi" was developed to solve this problem. Objectives: Identify needs of health care for people with HIV/AIDS on ARV treatment in Hanoi. Describe the situation of health care for people with HIV/AIDS on ARV treatment in Hanoi. Material and methods: Cross-sectional study of 3.406 cases of HIV patients be managed in 10 outpatients clinic ARV in Hanoi. Describe the combined cross-sectional method of quantitative and qualitative research. Results: 3.353/3.379 who have HIV/AIDS antiretroviral treatment is to provide information about HIV/AIDS and ARV treatment, accounting for 99.23 percent. The main contents that people with HIV/AIDS on ARV treatment is provided as general knowledge about HIV/AIDS (up 93.05 percent), but the proportion of patients are provided with the knowledge to use ARVs such as side effects and how to manage or knowledge about treatment adherence remains limited only accounted for 46.64 percent and 43.96 percent. The proportion of people with HIV/AIDS antiretroviral treatment is provided knowledge about daily diet is relatively high 93.47 percent. Of the 1512 subjects answered questions about getting the nutritional support, the proportion of participants in the study received nutritional support is still low, only 32.94 percent. Of the 3,379 subjects interviewed respondents about the chance of infections, up to 783 people, making up 23.17 percent said that they had never been examined for infectious diseases. The study also showed that the number of free-living and unemployment accounted for 60.08 percent of the total 3398 respondents. However in 1204 subjects have the answer about the loan and the OPC suggested referral only a very small number of infected 265 (proportion 22:01 percent) is having the capital and lending OPC suggested referral. Conclusion: The proportion of people with HIV/AIDS antiretroviral treatment is to provide information about HIV/AIDS and ARV treatment is almost absolute, accounting for 99.23 percent. The proportion of subjects participating in the study received nutritional support is still low, only 32.94 percent. Meanwhile. the main object of the poor and near-poor households, this really needs to be support for the patient. The majority of patients were give medications can improve availability (75.02 percent). To be able to make good and effective solution for people with HIV/AIDS is the first step to accurately assess the support needs health care based on the characteristics of their social context, that is reality of what they are, what they need and lack. Currently, during the construction of the National Strategy on HIV/AIDS in Vietnam in 2010 to 2020 and vision to 2030. the Ministry of Health draws on experience building and directing, including targeted support care and treatment of HIV/AIDS comcrehensive.
