
Objective: To evaluate the result for efficient open epitympanum in endoscopy surgery in patients who have the erosion of the wall of antrum with local cholesteatma attic. Design study: Prospective analysis of preoperative and postoperative symptoms. Patients: The author studied 19 patients with the wall of antrum eroded due to cholesteatoma otitis. Results: The prevalence of otorhea reduced. from 100 percent before the operation to 0 percent after it. Preoperative earache decreased from 78.9 percent to 0 percent after operation. Conclusion: Open epitympanum endoscop surgery improved symptoms for the patients. The prevalence of open attic which was dried and cleaned accounted for 100 percent 3 months after operation, and without postoperative hearing loss.
