Sức khỏe và hành vi tìm kiếm dịch vụ chăm sóc sức khỏe của nam lao động tự do ở thành phố Hà Nội: Kết quả từ một nghiên cứu định tính

The study was to describe health problems and health services seeking among male freelance laborers in 2010 in Hanoi. Results showed that male freelance laborers had a variety of health problems as well as health risks. Health problems are diverse including behavioral health problems, living condition and work-related health problems, and family and social pressure-related health problems. Health risks would be diseases related to alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking, and especially HIV/AIDS infection and transmission. Although male freelance laborers had a series of health problems and health risks, they managed and coped with such problems in a passive manner that could lead to bad health risks and consequences. The results indicated the imperative for interventions that aim to: 1) raise awareness of preventing risk behaviors and 2) promote on benefits of access to utilization of health services when having a health problem.
