
Long-needle electro-acupuncture is the therapy using long needles for insertion into several acupoints at once, combining with electric pulse to regulate chi (qi) fast and effectively, which can be used to treat low back pain due to different causes. The study was designed to evaluate the analgesia effect and daily activities improvement of long-needle electroacupuncture in treating patients with low back pain caused by lumbar dics herniation. Methods: Prospective study, clinical trial, comparative before and after. Results: After 15 days of treatment, good 60 percent, fair 30 percent and not less. Conclusions: Long-needle electro-acupuncture combined with massage, acupressure and pharmaco-acupuncture using Methylcobal has analgesia effect and has improved daily activities for patients suffering from low back pain due to lumbar disc herniation.
