
This study aimed to determine the prevalence of anemia, nutritional status and worm infection in women aged 20-35 in six communes in Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province. Methods: cross-sectional study. Results showed that overall percentage of anemia was 16.2 percent, increasing with age group in which the mild anemia rate was 13.9 percent; moderate anemia rate was 2.3 percent. Mild anemia was highest in the 30-35 years old group (17.0 percent); moderate anemia was highest in 20-24 years old group (4.0 percent). The proportion of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) of the women was 39.1 percent. The proportion of Grade I CED was 28.5 percent, Grade II was 8.8 percent and Grade III was 1.8 percent. The average rate of worm infection of 6 communes was 21.1 percent, which is T. trichiura was 1.7 percent, A. lumbicoides was 5.2 percent and hookworm infection was 14.2 percent.
