Assessment of the nutritional status of children under 5 years old in 3 districts of Kon Tum province in 2022. Assessment of mothers' knowledge and breastfeeding practices in 3 districts of Kon Tum province in 2022. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 247 children under 5 years old and their mothers/ main caregivers in 3 districts including Dak Glei, Kon Ray, Sa Thay. The variables of gender, age, ethnicity, knowledge, and practices in child nutrition were collected through an interview questionnaire; weight and height were measured using measuring tools. Results: The rate of underweight malnourished children is 36.2%, stunted malnourished children is 65.9%, and wasted malnourished children is 10%. The rate of mothers with knowledge is 51%, and the rate of practice is 69.1%. Conclution: The rate of children under 5 years old with malnutrition is quite high, the rate of mothers with knowledge and practice is still limited. It is necessary to strengthen communication and health education programs that are appropriate to local culture and society, contributing to improving knowledge and practices of breastfeeding for mothers.
