
Objective: To describe the newborn congenital malformation among newborn with rubella infection and congenital rubella syndrome rubella-infected mothers at the National Obstetric and Gynecological Hospital in 2011. Method: A descriptivestudy congenital malformations in 39 infants infected with rubella within 18 weeks of gestation. Results: Prevalance of infants infected with rubella with congenital malformations was 64.1 percent. The rate of newborn with ocular defects account for 4-44 percent, cardiovascular defects 56-72 percent. Hepatomegaly, jaundice and rash 56-88 percent. Microcephalie, lightweight, shot fermu leght 96-100 percent. Conclusion: The rate of newborn with congenital rubella syndrome among newborn with rubella infection was very high. It's necessary to follow up and have consultation to reduce the congenital malformations.
