
Aim: Application of lateral intercostal perforator flaps for upper limb after necrotic debridement due to electric burn. Methods: 6 patients with exposure tendon, bone of upper limb were applied lateral intercostal perforator flap at Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Cho Ray Hospital from 1/2012 to 7/2014. The Doppler BMHz has been used to determine intercostal perforators at meridian from middle axillary line. Results: Fives flaps were complete survival; one flap was necrosis at the borderline of distal end. All flaps were completely pliant and survival after pedicle separated . The width of pedicle from 4 to 6cm and was separated from 11 to 15 days after operation. Conclusion: The lateral intercostal perforator flap provides reliable coverage for upper limb defects. The surgery is simple and isn't required special skill and complicated equipment in plastic surgery.
