Aims: To access the results of surgical treatments of steroid-induced glaucoma in children at VNIO. Methods: Retrospective study of data of 41 consecutive children with steroid induced glaucoma underwent surgical treatments in VNIO from 1/2005 to 12/2009. Results: Mean age 11.4 + or - 4.13, range from 3 to 16 years. Sex: male 82. 9 percent andjemale 17.1 percent. Geographic: 87.8 percent patient was in the rural area, only 13.2 percent paitient was in the cities. The most related desease is vernal keratoconjuntivitis (VKC) with 78.15 percent. Vision blurring 7-5.6 percent, eye-pain 68.3 percent, red eye 81.9 percent. Preoperative VA: CF under 3 m in 36.5 percent, mean IOP is 33.2 + or - 2.91 rangedfrom 25 to 49 mmHG. After long follow up postoperative VA was 38.1 percent increased, 31.7 percent decreased and 30.2 percent nochanged. Mean IOP is 19.9 + or - 3.28. Successful results oftrabeculotrapted surgery was 87.5 percent, Trabeculectomy with antimetabolic was 74.1 percent and trabeculectomy was 70.0 percent.. Conclusions: Steroid induced glaucoma in children is very severe, surgical surgery provides a good result.
